Saturday Night Cine Club is the longest-running film series and flagship of the Charlotte Film Society. Each month on a Saturday hundreds of film lovers in the Charlotte community and beyond gather to screen the latest offering from this celebrated series. From beautiful European films continuing their countries’ art-house traditions to contemporary works all the way from South America to eastern Asia, each film provides a new and exciting experience for the audience topped off by a guest speaker who presents the film and discusses it with the audience immediately following the screening. Back Alley Film Series brings a wide variety of films which deviate from the typical cinematic norms. Whether 35mm prints of 1970s cult films or contemporary horror and B-movie genre offerings, each film is sure to challenge and intrigue the cinephile looking for more than what the multiplexes offer. Charlotte Film Lab is a series which brings local, regional and national filmmakers to the Charlotte area along with their films to discuss their working process and body of work in a casual, intimate environment.
